Marquette's Puppies

Marquette and Maverick's spring litter 09

 Solitaire now Gypsy
SE Michigan

Julie from South East Michigan has a Margot boy, Kaiser, from 2003. She had hinted in the past about a parti and so chose our little Solitaire. We have shared a photo of Kaiser and Mom, Margot down below at Margot's 03 litter display. Julie has since updated us that after a typical hard first night, Gypsy is now settling in. Kaiser on the other hand, doesn't know if he wants to share mom, Julie or not. But we know with time, he will adore having someone to play with.

Update: Gypsy is really turning into a handful. But also adorable and super smart. I've taught her sit and down and we start puppy kindergarten next week. I can't wait! And Kaiser is doing much better with her. He has started to play with her and only gets mad when she bites at his face. I have picked her registered name! It will be "Mozaic's Unique Entertainer". If its ok with you that I use the word unique. I wanted to because both of her grandmother's have unique in their names, so I thought that would be cool. And she is named after Gypsy Rose Lee, who was in fact quite a "unique entertainer" herself.

Most recent update: some exciting news is that Gypsy graduated puppy kindergarten today! Besides basic obedience we worked on puppy sized agility equipment in class and she loved it. In the last class today she did the teeter tawter without any help, I was so proud of her! She is still a handful, but I can't help laughing at most of what she does. Lastly, she and Kaiser are becoming good friends finally.

 Diamond now Luna, Austria

Elisabeth from Vienna, Austria contacted us about a parti girl and whether we would consider sending one of our puppies to another country. As it turned out, she decided that she would like to fly here, spend a few days and take her puppy as a carry-on for the trip back. We decided that anyone who would make such an effort for one of our puppies was certainly deserving. We had a great three day visit, which included dog-related activities and look forward to hearing how Luna does from across the BIG pond.

Most recent update: Luna is doing very well, she is growing and getting bigger every day.
She is keeping us all busy, in the moment it is very difficult to take photos, she is always moving. Everybody loves her because of her charming character, we are very happy with her, always tail wagging...

 Spades now Milo
Grand Rapids MI

Fred and Judy drove to our farm from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Their farm is home to horses, chickens, cats and a goat and wanted to add one of our black boys to their family. They are not new to Standard Poodles and had just recently lost their poodle of 13 years. Thanks Fred and Judy......we know your little guy is going to have a great time with all of these new "friends" to meet.

Update: I thought I should let you know how our puppy is doing.
He's a bundle of energy and close to being house trained (we're using the old school method and no crate). Doesn't mind sleeping late in the morning and sometimes has to be dragged outside to pee (where he just lies down again).  Starting to get along with the other animals but they aren't much fun to play with (cats, goat, horses).
We have started basic training (as in "sit") but he doesn't have enough concentration yet.  He seems pretty bright but just not ready.
His coat is beautiful, soft and long (the groomers don't want him until he has had all his vaccinations.)  No problems at the Vet.  Good appetite, dips his ears in the water dish and makes a mess.
All in all, we are very happy with him and think he has the makings of a great dog.

Best regards, - Fred

 Canasta now Marti, Lansing

Canasta now "Maverick's Mozaic Parti Marti"

Darcy and Roger from the Lansing, Michigan area are our seasonal neighbors when they vacation here in our area. They recently contacted us about getting a puppy when, sadly, their beautiful black Standard boy unexpectedly passed away. We will be able to see Marti from time to time when she is up North here on vacation with her new mom and dad.

Update: Marti is doing very well.  We spent the weekend Up North and came home today.  She is very sweet.  Nights in her crate have been difficult so far.  She misses her siblings allot I think.  Tomorrow she goes to the Vet.  She was perfect all the way home in the car.   Will keep you posted.

Most Recent Update: Darcy stopped in for a visit with Marti. We really enjoyed having her come and play with Jack and Blitz......they enjoyed it too!   Marti is sporting the red collar below.

 Ginny now Bea, Charlotte MI

Tom drove up from Charlotte, Michigan to visit with our little Ginny before puppies were ready to leave for their new homes. He enjoyed her playful antics and was excited about adding her to their family which included a Giant Schnauzer, Duke.

 Black Jack, SE Michigan

Jack has gone to live with Julie and girls from South East Michigan. He will be joining Mia from our last year's litter. We had become quite attached to Jack and were very happy to hear that he would be going to live with a family that we already knew. Mia lost her Buddy, Dexter and so with time it's hoped that she and Jack will become great playmates as well........... Thanks sooo much Julie for giving this special boy of ours a wonderful forever home.

 Faro, Lansing Michigan

Maureen and Husband Mark and son Ryan from the Lansing, Michigan area contacted us about adding one of our boys to their family which includes another dog, Alfie who is a rescue Labradoodle. Maureen has had dogs most of her life and fell in love with the Standard poodle.

Update: We just wanted you to know that the little guy is doing just great!    he had a nice ride home and  he sat on Mark's lap the whole way ----while he had a few healthy snack treats-  he loves the big yard to run around in... thinks that's just great-!  and decided that tug of war with the lilac bush was great fun- with a bunch of no, no, no's to learn from - no trimming the trees or flowers  : )    Alfie likes him a great deal- although he keeps trying to nurse from him-Alfie just gives us a perplexed look... and no bother....
He likes my dining room entrance way with the fancy colored wooden beads... took one whole strand to the floor! oops .... i put no chew bitter apple spray on them- he doesn't like them any more... : )    he slept with us last night and cuddled right up  slept 7 hours and went potty outside and poopoo too this morning
We just love him  a perfect little addition to the family   yesterday more reserved and today lots of jumping, barking, and playtime  going on.... his little character coming out a bit at a time...

Thanks so much -we'll stay in touch.

Roulette now Contessa
SE Michigan

Paula from South East Michigan said she had been looking at our site for sometime and decided on one of our parti girls to add to their already two-dog family, one of which is a standard poodle.

Update: A short note to let you know that your baby is doing well.  She went to the doctor this am and caused quite a scene.  Everyone came to see the Parti poodle.  We even got offers to groom her.  Tessa or Tess is holding her own with my dogs.  She and Abri play beautifully and even Mr. Tuck seems  ok.  He taught her to get on hind legs and try to steal Abri's food.  Abri lets her try and then goes in her crate to eat hers.  There are interesting dynamics but we love her.

 Blitz now Ella, SW Ohio

Jan from South West Ohio contacted us about our cream girl. Her emails described the type of home she could provide for our girl.......a home where she could have a number of pals to play and snuggle with which included two toy poodles. Blitz didn't hold back from giving Jan a wet poodle kiss upon meeting. We're sure Blitz will be very much loved and spoiled.

Update: Blitz was a doll the whole drive home.  She didn’t seem in distress, so I didn’t take her out of the car.  I think she was becoming a little disgusted with how long the drive was taking, but she stayed in the back seat the whole time. I took her around to the back yard as soon as we got home and let her meet the rest of the dogs before bringing her inside.

She is a lovely dog, very much a Velcro pet.  As much as enjoys her sisters, she seems to have a people-radar that hones in on the nearest person (generally me!).  She is a doll and I’m very happy to have her.  Sort of wish I’d gotten one years ago!

Most recent update: Blitz has a new name:  Ella.  My friend suggested it when she was in town earlier in the week, and it just seems to suit her............. Ella gets along very well with the rest of the “pack,” except for Roxie who shrieks like a banshee whenever she gets too close!!!  Little Roxie is a serious diva – I have to be very careful that that little one doesn’t become a totally spoiled brat.  Ella just looks at her like she’s nuts, and goes on playing with Clara Francesca & Gretchen.  Ella is a doll and she has fit in seamlessly.

Jan updates us regularly on Ella........they are the "Perfect Match"! We are looking forward to visiting with Jan and Ella this summer when they try and make it to Premier in Richmond, Indiana come July 2010.
